"My Math Note": Student Notebook Card

Overview

The My Math Note (MMN) Card is intended to function as a Notebook for the lesson. It is equipped with all Presentations Cards that present lesson content as well as all Student Cards that student's will use in the lesson.

Functionality

Students will use the My Math Note (MMN) card throughout each lesson. Distributed at the start of the lesson, MMN contains all necessary information and allows students to interact with the content, complete exercises, and gather peers' ideas for reference. During discussions, students can collect and manipulate classmates' responses within MMN to enhance their understanding.

MMN also provides a space for students to write personal reflections at the end of the lesson, helping them organize their thoughts and reinforce their learning. This tool keeps all student notes and lesson records in one place, promoting organization and enabling easy review of previous content. MMN is editable to fit the needs of each student or class.

LoiLoTTP emphasizes the discussion of diverse ideas, and teachers can facilitate this by displaying student responses during lessons. MMN supports both verbal and written fluency in mathematics by prompting students to share their thoughts and document their learning.

Using MMN teaches responsibility, ownership, and organization while allowing for creativity. Students can organize and store their MMNs within LoiLoNote by creating notes for each unit and saving MMNs in their personal materials folder or on the note desktop. Teachers are advised to open a math subject that students can join using a class code.

Card Set-up

My Math Notes vary slightly in appearance depending on the lesson type. They come pre-set with all necessary Cards, so students only need to add their Classmates' Ideas during discussions. This setup simplifies the process for teachers, who can send students a single Card (MMN) to capture the entire lesson. It also makes it easier for students to manage just one Card instead of adding multiple student work Cards to their MMN.
